Vinyasa Flow: The Revolved Moon
This practice begins with a lunar restorative child's pose but quickly moves into solar variations of plank pose. We will often utilizes transitions via ashtanga pranam (8 limbed salutation) instead of the more dynamic chaturanga-up dog-down dog transition which can tax the shoulder girdle.
The peak wave of practice explores the alignment of parsva virbadrasana 2 (reverse warrior 2) into trikonasana (triangle pose) and parsa trikonasana (revolved triangle) and parsva ardha chandrasana (revolved half moon). Please use a block if it is difficult to reach your fingers/palm to the floor. Out inversions for this class include pincha mayurasana (forearm stand) and sarvangasana (shoulder stand). Practice ends with a traditional savasana (corpse pose).
